Who Was Anna Martin?
The Saint Mary Parish gift shop has been in existence since 1969. From its small beginnings in a portable display case to its current location in the lobby of the church, the shop has ministered to parishioners and guests since that time. Anna Martin was a long time parishioner and sacristan for the church. Her name can be found on the parish rolls as early as 1917. Upon her death in 1987, Anna Martin left a legacy to the Saint Mary Parish Altar and Rosary Society in the amount of $5,000. The Society invested that money in the gift shop and named the shop in honor of their benefactress. Her picture can be seen next to the register in the shop today.
