Small Faith Communities
It has been said that a parish is a community of
communities.
Involvement in one of these groups is a good way to get to know people
in the parish. Through prayer, sharing, mutual learning and support, and
service projects, we experience the movement of God's Spirit in our lives
Small Faith Communities grew from the RENEW 2000 Process held in the parish 2000-2002. Coordinating this ministry is a Core Community. The Core Community provides information on various faith sharing materials and service opportunities, and organizes seasonal sign-ups for new participants. The "seasons" consist of 6 weeks of meeting once a week during Lent and in the fall, beginning in October. Many Small Faith Communities have also elected to meet throughout the year for sharing, service projects or simple fun.
The groups consist of 6 or more people who gather to share the Word of God with prayer, reflection and mutual encouragement to put our faith into action in our daily lives. Each group is unique in their schedule and theme.
