Gain an Indulgence in the Year of Faith!
Fr. Alvaro Montero will be leading a group of pilgrims from the I-25 and Broadway Light Rail Station to the Cathedral Basilica of the Immaculate Conception. We will meet at the I-25 and Broadway Light Rail Station at 12:30pm, process to Washington Park to eat lunch and pray. From there we will make our way north for a tour of the Cathedral. We will pray for Pope Francis, profess the Creed together, attend the 4:30pm Cathedral Vigil Mass and enjoy a catered dinner at the nearby Knights of Columbus Hall before taking the Light Rail back to I-25 and Broadway. Total pilgrimage walking distance is 5 miles.
The Cathedral Basilica has been designated by Archbishop Aquila as one of eight pilgrimage sites within the Archdiocese that pilgrims can visit in order to gain a plenary indulgence. The requirements for the indulgence are: to be in a state of grace (confession 8 days prior to or after the pilgrimage), celebrate the Holy Mass, Profess the Creed, and Pray for the Supreme Pontiff.

Corpus Christi Procession
Sunday, June 2 after the 9:30am Mass
“The medicine of Immortality” was how St. Ignatius of Antioch referred to the Eucharist. Given its pre-eminent status, it seems only fitting that the Church has a feast day called Corpus Christi—also known as the “Most Holy Body and Blood of Christ”—to specifically celebrate the Eucharist. Eucharistic processions such as ours at St. Mary’s are a traditional part of observing the feast.
Children who made their First Communion recently are invited to process in their First Communion clothes.
