Formation
Saint Mary Parish School is a Catholic school providing rigorous academics for Pre-Kindergarten through 8th grade. Both traditional and special curriculum are offered:
- Departmental classes in grades 5 through 8
- Computers in all classrooms
- Art, Music and Physical Education taught by specialists
- Computer classes in grades K through 8
- Spanish in grades K-8
- Archdiocesan Art Competition, Speech Team, Yearbook, Newspaper, Student Council and a full range of athletic programs
- After school programs include: Artful Journey, Chess Club and Math Counts
Curriculum guidelines are provided by the Archdiocese of Denver and are routinely reviewed and assessed for effectiveness.
- March 2011 - Catholic Academic Junior High Decathlon state champions
- February 2011 - Math Counts team competed in the Denver Regional competition
- December 2010 - First place in the Archdiocese of Denver Trophy Speech meet
Achievement
ITBS
ITBS scores indicate students consistently gain more than one year's growth in each grade. Approximately 90% of the student population tests at what would be considered at or above proficiency level for CSAP (Colorado Student Assessment Program). Of that figure, more than 50% tested at the advanced level.
