Building Project Update!
Dear Parish Family,
I contact you wishing Easter blessings for you and your loved ones during this most sacred season! With great joy I announce to you that we have finalized our design and have established a tentative goal of September 1, 2019 as the start date for the renovation of the church building. God willing, we plan to dedicate the worship space next Easter (April 12, 2020). This time next year, we should be celebrating Mass in our newly-renovated and beautified space!
Since the last Town Hall meeting, the Architect (under the direction of the Pastor and the volunteers on the Building Committee) have redesigned the choir space based on your feedback. As you will see in the attached video, the look of the back of the sanctuary is much more seamless than the prior design and the line of sight from the vestibule is virtually the same as it is now.
What’s next? We have completed the Design phase of the project and are now moving into the Construction Documents phase. This means that the Owner Representative, the Architect, and the Contractor are hard at work drawing and pricing every inch of the project down to the last nail or screw. This work will give us actual pricing and timelines so that we can firm up the start date and project duration.
You should understand that there are many moving parts to this endeavor and many of the logistics are still under consideration. It is expected, though not yet guaranteed, that we will be able to have all daily and weekend Masses in Ave Maria Hall. We are in the beginning stages of putting together a master plan to accommodate as many of our regular ministries and activities as physically possible as well as address the challenges around parking, traffic flow, etc. These months of construction, although challenging, present an opportunity for growth. In the end, all of the effort will be rewarded by many blessings including (among others) a beautiful worship space for the glory of God and easier access to our fellowship space where we come together as a family of faith. I promise to keep you informed in the next few months as decisions are made and I ask for your patience and cooperation during the challenge of construction.
Finally, I am excited to share some images here from the Architect. But more importantly, please take a moment to view the beautiful video walk-through that gives a much more in-depth and realistic visual of the actual end-goal of this important project.
