The Sacrament of Confirmation helps us become who God has created us to be. It “unites us more firmly to Christ, it renders our bond with the Church more perfect, and it gives us the special strength of the Holy Spirit to spread and defend the faith” (CCC 1303). St Mary Confirmation Preparation supports parents as the primary educators of their children and encourages students to take ownership of their faith by fostering a relationship with Jesus Christ. Through dynamic weekly classes alongside fun and in-depth retreats, Confirmation leaders seek to guide each student closer to Christ and His Church.
3rd Grade Confirmation Preparation
In the Archdiocese of Denver, we celebrate Confirmation in 3rd grade according to the Restored Order of the Sacraments. For information about receiving the Sacrament please visit the Children Sacramental Preparation page by clicking here.
6th–12th Grade Confirmation Preparation
Any youth in grades 6–12 who have not yet received the Sacrament of Confirmation may attend classes every Sunday immediately following the 9:30 a.m. Mass at 10:45 a.m.–12:15 p.m. There will also be a mandatory Confirmation Retreat April 5–7, 2019. Parents complete one adult faith formation offering during the year.
Alternative instruction may be given through a Catholic school or as part of a homeschool curriculum. Youth are still expected to attend the weekend retreat and fulfill other requirements.
