The image of the family is not one of a closed circle but one of a star that radiates and opens toward the outside. If a family does not radiate, the family dies. (Priests for the Family, 32)
It is Jesus who stirs in you the desire to do something great with your lives, the will to follow an ideal, the refusal to allow yourselves to be ground down by mediocrity, the courage to commit yourselves humbly and patiently to improving yourselves and society, making the world more human and more fraternal. (St. John Paul II)
The call to love is a call to give. Giving of our Time, Talent, and Treasure are characteristics of being a good steward. Through our Baptism and Confirmation, God has endowed each of us with unique abilities (talents) that we are called to use for the good of others, for the benefit of all of His creation and to build up His Kingdom on Earth.
