As announced in February this year, all three Colorado Dioceses voluntarily entered into an agreement with the Colorado Attorney General to review priest personnel files to determine those who have substantiated allegations of sexually abusing a minor. The results of that investigation will be made public by the end of this month.
What we know so far is that there have been zero known incidents of sexual abuse of a minor by an Archdiocesan priest in the last 20 years and that there are zero priests in ministry with a substantiated allegation of sexual abuse of a minor. At the same time, the Dioceses announced on October 7 that an independent reparations program for individuals who were sexually abused as minors by parish priests is now open and accepting claims. You can find all of this information on https://promise.archden.org/.
Further, here at St. Mary Parish, we will have additional resources available. One of them (starting this weekend) is the book by Bishop Robert Barron, Letter to a Suffering Church (https://www.wordonfire.org/resources/topics_taxonomy/letter-to-a-suffering-church/). You can pick up a copy in Marian Hall when you come to Mass.
